Scarling @ Liverpool carling academy 2, 2005

Scarling's first tour over here in the UK (finally!) of course hell freezing over & *coughs* uni couldn't stop me going. Most of the audience I gather were there to see what Jessicka was doing nowadays after Jack off jill, it was a curious mix really. Support came from The ivory's, sounding similar to early idlewild & (to quote someone else ;) early blondie, doing a rather short set though but managing to get the audience dancing for a while.
After a short wait Scarling come on to an obscure stage set up so much that they appeared to be silhouette's, opening with the timid but sweet "hello london", I think most of the audience played 'lets try to find the band'!. Carrying onto "city noise" & "crispin glover", at which point I moved my standing position (standing backstage near guests a few other strangers :)) & could finally see the band!
Mixing tracks from both albums from "bummer" to "like a killer" to "we are the music makers", even more energetic than I imagined they'd be, & jessicka throwing some tamborine poses. I even managed to swag a rather battered drumstick at the end!
