Rachel stamp @ manchester, night & day cafe, 2004
A rare chance to see the stamp outside of London ever since the departure of robin guy (the most hyperactive drummer - sniffles). There was 3 support bands for the gig, I missed the first but unfortunately caught the terrible 2nd support band 'midland railway' who seemed to be a comedy band with lisps, maybe I just didn't 'get it', the 3rd support band 'ariel x' were a much welcome breath of fresh air compared to the previous band more of a rock band than glam but they were still pretty decent.
Then came The stamp, the bleak gap between them & the replacement drummer was a bit alarming but non-the-less they still put on a damn good show. Will looking slightly chubber then normal & minus the groupies, Shahenna looking adoreable in a gothic lolita dress and lots of green glitter & David in a lovely 70's glam outfit. We get alot of classic stamp tracks such as 'Pink scab', 'Witches of angleholme', 'I wanna be your doll', 'I got the worm', 'Superstars of heartache' at one point during the gig David ryder prangley announces he'll act out all of 'Heathers', luckily we just get one short scene ;)
Technical glitches and glittery balloons don't hold off the gig, as we get more spangley glamness with an encore before the stamp bow off
