My ruin @ Stoke underground, January 2006
My ruin's first venture to stoke & tour with the new line up. Support came from several bands, skin deep, lazarus blackstar & gu medicine all within different metal/rock 'genres' but in my case when it's not really my thing I'd better leave it at that.
After quite a wait & eyeing up tairrie's 'blasphemous girl' boutique items that were on sale my ruin finally make it on stage, I'll admit I wasn't sure what to expect of the new line up but as soon as they started I honestly couldn't tell the difference, the new members matt & chris certainly can do their stuff. Mixing newer material from "the brutal language" with older tracks from "stick it to me", to "sanctuary" combined with "blasphemous girl", "missannthropy"..

An unusual but incredibly fantastic set, all of the band seemed to be really enjoying themselves, probably the cheeriest I've seen tairrie & mick compared to previous gigs. After much more malarkey with the audience including using them as a prop at one point they then went on to finish with a cover of Mudhoney's "touch me I'm sick" ♥
