Cradle of filth @ Manchester academy 1, 2005

The band that infamously changes line-up faster than you can keep up with. This was the first time I'd seen them in a good few years so didn't recognise a few of the newer members, and the huge change in fanbase, most of the audience being 14-16 years old (yes I felt very old at times) it felt a bit weird.
That aside they at least do still know how to put on a show. Most of the material was a mixture of newer songs with a few older tracks thrown in for good measure, "her ghost in the fog", to "from the cradle to enslave", to "tortured soul asylum" & so on.
During songs we got different stage action for a change (compared to the dancing blood spitting lebsians we got last time), including midget goblins, a huge skeletal/metaaaal (giggles) like statue (i.e a man in a suit), fire/pyrotechnics during the encore (which being small I could see the sparks only), & roadcrew dressed as monks.
Overall despite having the difference in audience, it wasn't too bad a gig overall. I just wish I could have managed to see more of the amusing on stage action, especally the pyrotechnics
